Pundit Says Majority of XRP Holders Don’t Deserve the Wealth They Fantasize. Here’s why

A crypto enthusiast has challenged XRP holders to look beyond price targets and spend more time understanding the asset they own. Mrcauliman noted that many investors focus heavily on how much their XRP holdings could be worth at ambitious prices while paying less attention to XRP, the XRP Ledger (XRPL), and the factors that can influence demand. Mrcauliman Criticizes XRP Price Obsession In a recent post, Mrcauliman said many XRP holders focus primarily on the wealth they could gain from their holdings.

He criticized investors who calculate how much their XRP would be worth at prices such as $100 without taking the time to understand how XRP works on the XRPL or what gives the asset utility. He said some holders have enough time to calculate hypothetical fortunes but do not use that time to study the technology or understand the factors that could create demand for XRP. Mrcauliman stressed that purchasing XRP does not entitle an investor to wealth.

He also rejected the idea that holding XRP guarantees a future payout, warning that investors who rely entirely on a price target to change their financial situation could be relying on unrealistic expectations. Investors Push Back on the Argument The post drew responses from other members of the XRP community. Kyle Andrews questioned whether investors are expected to study an asset before buying it, noting that many people approach XRP in the same way they approach stocks by hoping they selected the right investment.

Mudball also addressed the issue of XRP’s price reaction to positive developments. He noted that investors become frustrated because positive news surrounding XRP sometimes appears to coincide with falling prices. Responding to Mudball, Mrcauliman said that positive news does not automatically create immediate buying demand for XRP.

He highlighted expectations, liquidity and selling pressure as factors that can influence price movements. He further noted that a decline following a positive news headline does not mean the news caused it. Mrcauliman repeated his broader point that some investors understand their preferred XRP price better than they understand the asset itself.

Mrcauliman Clarifies His Position on Investors XRP Crypto Resource then challenged Mrcauliman’s position, saying investors who select successful companies deserve to benefit financially from their decisions. The account also said developers should receive compensation for their work but should not be considered more deserving of wealth than investors. Mrcauliman rejected that interpretation and said the argument attributed a position to him that he never expressed.

He went further, explaining that his criticism focused on investors who refuse to understand what they own while treating hypothetical returns as money they are guaranteed to receive. He added that investing does not require someone to build the underlying technology, but it also does not guarantee a fortune. Mrcauliman also distinguished XRP from Ripple shares, noting that buying XRP is not the same as purchasing an ownership stake in Ripple.
