Nasdaq-Listed Evernorth Targets Yield on $648 Million XRP Treasury as Four Institutional Partners Join

Key takeaways Evernorth names four partners for institutional XRP strategies Company plans to deploy its 473 million XRP treasury XRP Ledger lending could expand future yield opportunities Nasdaq-listed Evernorth Holdings (XRPN) is preparing to generate returns from its approximately $648 million XRP treasury after naming Ripple, Kraken, Coinbase and BitGo as its first institutional execution partners. The company announced the agreements on October 14, less than a week after entering public markets with approximately 473 million XRP. Unlike companies that primarily hold cryptocurrencies as balance sheet investments, Evernorth intends to actively deploy its tokens into institutional financial strategies.
According to Evernorth's official announcement, the initial deployment phase is expected to begin during the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals. Evernorth Plans to Put 473 Million XRP to Work The four newly announced partners will provide the institutional infrastructure supporting Evernorth's treasury management strategy. Ripple, Coinbase, Kraken and BitGo were selected based on their institutional capabilities, regulatory arrangements, capitalization and experience serving professional investors.
The company intends to use established counterparties before gradually expanding into more complex financial activities, including future decentralized lending on the XRP Ledger. However, Evernorth has not disclosed how much XRP will initially be deployed, the allocation among counterparties or the returns it expects to earn. The latest announcement follows Evernorth's Nasdaq trading debut, when XRPN shares initially climbed 13.
5% before surrendering most of their gains. The company entered public markets following its merger with Armada Acquisition Corp. II, reporting approximately $300 million in gross cash proceeds alongside its XRP reserves.
Former Coinbase Investment Chief Leads XRP Strategy Evernorth's investment program will be overseen by Hugo Jeandesboz, who was appointed chief investment officer on September 28 and formally introduced in an October 12 announcement. Jeandesboz previously served as co-chief investment officer at Coinbase Asset Management, where he oversaw institutional investment strategies. His background also includes positions at HSBC and Société Générale.
His responsibilities include treasury allocation, liquidity management, risk oversight and relationships with institutional trading counterparties. CEO Asheesh Birla said Evernorth's objective is to increase XRP holdings per share over time while supporting the development of the broader XRP ecosystem. This differs from a conventional XRP treasury strategy, where returns depend primarily on changes in the cryptocurrency's market price.
However, active management introduces counterparty, liquidity and operational risks that passive cryptocurrency holdings may not face to the same degree. XRP Ledger Lending Could Become Evernorth's Next Opportunity Evernorth's longer-term plans depend partly on the development of native lending and credit markets on the XRP Ledger. The company intends to allocate capital directly to decentralized financial applications once the relevant lending capabilities receive validator approval and demonstrate reliable production performance.
Such infrastructure could allow institutional participants to supply XRP liquidity to on-chain credit markets, potentially generating additional returns. However, those opportunities are not yet equivalent to established revenue streams. Protocol activation, market demand and counterparty safeguards will determine whether deployment becomes commercially viable.
The distinction is particularly important for XRPN investors, who own shares in a publicly traded treasury company rather than directly redeemable XRP tokens.
