Bitcoin Price Prediction: BTC Could Surge 117% to $175,000, Says Siebert Analyst

Key takeaways Siebert analyst forecasts Bitcoin rising beyond $175,000 Institutional financing and adoption underpin bullish outlook Bitcoin faces selling pressure despite long-term optimism Bitcoin could surge more than 117% to $175,000 over the coming quarters, according to Brian Vieten, senior research analyst at Nasdaq-listed Siebert Financial (SIEB), despite the cryptocurrency's latest decline toward $80,000. The forecast, outlined in comments provided to Bitcoin. com News on October 14, comes as Bitcoin struggles with renewed ETF withdrawals, persistent inflation and uncertainty surrounding Federal Reserve interest rates.

BTC traded near $80,800 on October 15, leaving a substantial gap between current market conditions and the analyst's bullish target. Why Siebert Analyst Sees Bitcoin Reaching $175,000 Vieten argues that Bitcoin's underlying market structure has changed significantly since the cryptocurrency lending failures of 2022, when excessive leverage and institutional liquidations intensified the bear market. In his assessment, ownership has become more diversified, while conventional financial institutions increasingly provide investors with alternative financing arrangements.

”The market structure has fundamentally shifted,” Vieten said in comments reported by Bitcoin. com News. His valuation framework considers money supply growth, digital wallet adoption and Bitcoin demand.

The projection also exceeds Citi's $113,000 target, which reflects another optimistic institutional outlook despite recent market weakness. One important development involves banks accepting Bitcoin ETF shares as collateral. Such arrangements allow eligible investors to borrow against their holdings without selling immediately, although leverage can create additional liquidation risks.

Vieten also highlights miners diversifying into artificial intelligence. As Coinpaper previously reported, Bitcoin miners are increasingly developing data center infrastructure, potentially reducing their dependence on cryptocurrency mining revenue. Bitcoin ETF Outflows Challenge the Bullish Forecast The optimistic prediction comes during a difficult period for institutional cryptocurrency investment products.

US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded approximately $261. 4 million in net withdrawals on October 14, reversing the previous session's $175. 7 million inflow.

Earlier in October, Bitcoin ETFs lost $729 million across October 7 and 8, illustrating how quickly institutional demand can reverse during periods of market uncertainty. Those withdrawals complicate the argument that ETF adoption automatically creates permanent buying pressure. Investors can redeem fund shares as readily as they subscribe, particularly when macroeconomic conditions deteriorate.

Meanwhile, September's US inflation report showed headline consumer prices rising 3. 7% annually, increasing concerns that the Federal Reserve could maintain restrictive monetary policy or raise interest rates. Higher borrowing costs can pressure Bitcoin by reducing liquidity and making lower-risk investments more attractive.

Can Bitcoin Reach $175,000 in 2027? Vieten also identifies expanding stablecoin adoption as a potential catalyst for cryptocurrency markets, arguing that broader blockchain-based financial services could eventually support Bitcoin demand. However, stablecoin growth does not automatically generate Bitcoin purchases, making the relationship an important assumption behind the forecast.

From approximately $80,800, Bitcoin would need to gain $94,200 to reach $175,000. The cryptocurrency must first recover through $85,000 and $90,000 before challenging the psychologically important $100,000 level. Recent Bitcoin liquidations have exposed the market's vulnerability to leveraged positions, while the $80,000–$82,000 region remains an important near-term support area.

Other Wall Street forecasts also suggest substantial upside, although their timing and assumptions differ. Bernstein, for example, has projected Bitcoin at $125,000 by the end of 2026.
