A Critical Date for Ethereum Has Arrived: A Major Update Is Expected

Ethereum’s next major network update, Glamsterdam, will be launched on the Sepolia testnet on October 6th. The activation is scheduled for 16:53 Turkish time. According to the schedule announced by the Ethereum Foundation, the update will be launched in epoch number 353,024 and slot number 11,296,768.
Validators running on Sepolia need to upgrade both their execution and consensus layer software to the specified versions. Glamsterdam combines the Amsterdam update at the execution layer and the Gloas update at the consensus layer into a single package. Ethereum’s Block Generation System Will Change One of the most important features of the update will be the separation of validators, who propose blocks, and the structures that prepare the blocks at the protocol level. The system, called ePBS, aims to make the block production process more reliable and efficient. Block-level access lists aim to indicate in advance which Ethereum data transactions will touch.
It is stated that this structure could help with parallel transaction processing and increasing Ethereum’s mainlayer capacity in the future. The October 6th update only covers the Sepolia testnet. ETH holders do not need to take any action, and the exact date when the update will be activated on the Ethereum mainnet is not yet confirmed.
The mainnet schedule will be determined after the test results are available. *This is not investment advice.
