Bullish: A Strategic Bet On Tokenization (Rating Upgrade)

Summary Bullish stands as a breakout candidate, potentially benefiting from Bitcoin’s recovery and a favorable investment backdrop. BLSH’s Q2 '26 saw 24% Y/Y transaction revenue growth and a 97% surge in subscription/services revenue, now 68% of total revenue. The Equiniti acquisition positions BLSH to capitalize on the rapidly expanding tokenized real-world asset market, a key long-term catalyst.
Risks include regulatory headwinds, platform security, and potential growth slowdowns in tokenized assets or increased trading fee competition. Bullish (BLSH)'s shares could be set for a breakout if the world’s largest cryptocurrency, Bitcoin (BTC), continues its price recovery. As mentioned in my recent article on iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT), Bitcoin has a favorable investment backdrop as its price has recovered to just about $84,000 per coin, up from less than $60,000 during the summer, with major on-chain metrics such as the market-value-to-realized-value ratio signaling a technically bullish setup.
Further, the growth of the tokenized real-world asset market -- which means the tokenization of real-world assets such as U. S. Treasuries, stocks, and bonds -- highlights a strong growth opportunity for Bullish.
Growing tokenization would be a major growth catalyst for the company's subscription and services revenues, which are representing the majority of Bullish's revenue mix. Bitcoin’s recent price momentum obviously also bodes well for trading activity on the growing Bullish cryptocurrency platform, and with the stock price being positively correlated to the Bitcoin price, I believe Bullish represents an attractive investment with potentially asymmetric return potential. Data by YCharts Previous Rating I rated the cryptocurrency trading platform a 'Buy' in May 2026 in the context of Bullish’s agreement to acquire transfer agent Equiniti, which was set to broaden the company’s product and services portfolio.
Because of this acquisition, I called Bullish an "Offensive Crypto Growth Play" and recommended the crypto trading platform and services provider a "Buy. " Bullish is also profitable and heavily involved in appealing to more institutional investors, for which the tokenization theme could be of significant interest long-term. A Bet on Bitcoin as Well as Tokenization Bullish is a major cryptocurrency trading platform that offers retail and institutional investors spot and futures trading in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other digital assets; margin and custody services; and the utilization of crypto-specific derivative products.
In the second quarter, Bullish benefited from growing institutional adoption and a boost to its trading volumes on the platform: in Q2'26, Bullish customers generated $29. 9 million in transaction revenues for the crypto trading platform, showing 24% year-over-year growth. The company's subscription and services revenues -- which includes services provided for licensing fees for CoinDesk Indices, data subscriptions, and advertising -- reached $62.
7 million (+97% year-over-year growth). This also means that Bullish's subscription and services revenue represented a revenue share of nearly ~68% in the second quarter, highlighting that Bullish is increasingly high-grading its revenue mix by driving growth in a segment that has a more predictable revenue stream. Bullish As is typical in the cryptocurrency universe, trading platforms like Bullish or Coinbase Global (COIN) are inconsistently profitable, which raises the risk for investors.
The cryptocurrency trading platform reported a net loss of $280. 0 million in the second quarter, which compared to a net profit of $108. 3 million in the year-earlier period.
Significant fair value changes in digital asset holdings are the main reason for Bullish, as well as other cryptocurrency trading platforms, seeing such a high degree of earnings volatility. Bullish Despite an inconsistent profitability profile, Bullish has managed to be profitable during bull markets, which are characterized by rising digital asset prices and Bitcoin prices especially. Bitcoin is still the largest cryptocurrency in the market, representing about 60% of the industry's market capitalization.
Because Bitcoin, and other digital assets, have generally benefited from growing institutional adoption over the last several years, platforms like Bullish have seen strong revenue and EBITDA growth trends. Data by YCharts Bullish is well-positioned, due to its acquisition of Equiniti, to play a larger role in the tokenization of the securities market, which could be the next growth frontier for the cryptocurrency market at large. Fundamentally, tokenization means the securitization of real-world assets such as stocks and bonds that allows crypto investors to invest in a digital representation of those assets.
Tokenization is set to be a big business for Bullish and institutional investors, which could benefit from lower settlement costs, fractional ownership, easier access to more obscure assets (like real estate or art), and trading opportunities decoupled from conventional market opening times. Bullish's long-term growth potential may therefore depend less on trading volumes of native tokens (which are included in transaction activity) and more on how much real-world economic activity moves onto blockchain rails. With the market seeing a massive 20x expansion of tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) between the beginning of 2024 and mid-2026, growing institutional endorsement of tokenization could be a major platform growth driver for Bullish and further the legitimacy of digital assets in general.
Bullish Bullish's Valuation Bullish’s share price is positively correlated with the Bitcoin price: rising BTC prices typically led to bursts of trading activity on cryptocurrency platforms, leading to higher revenues... and a positive market reaction. And the opposite is also true: falling digital asset prices, or a crypto winter, depress interest in trading and therefore lead to valuation pressure for companies like Bullish, Coinbase Global, or Robinhood Markets (HOOD).
Shares of Bullish are currently valued at a forward P/E ratio of 43. 6x, which is significantly below the firm's average price-to-earnings ratio of 70. 1x: in fact, the present valuation reflects a 38% discount to the historical valuation multiple of 70.
1x. Coinbase Global is trading at 59. 0x forward earnings while Robinhood is priced at a 31.
8x multiple, with the industry group average P/E being 44. 8x. If shares of Bullish were to revalue to a growth P/E ratio of ~55-60x, which could be justified based on COIN's valuation, shares of the cryptocurrency trading platform could be worth between $40 and $44 per share.
If Bullish were to really benefit from tokenization and the company were to expand its revenue base and services revenues, I believe BLSH could even return to its historical P/E ratio of 70. 1x... which implies a fair value for the crypto enterprise of ~$50 per share.
Data by YCharts Risks With BLSH Like with artificial intelligence, there are considerable opportunities for investors in the cryptocurrency market but also material risks. Serious anti-crypto legislation, the compromise of major crypto platforms through cyberattacks/theft, and the cyclicality of the business itself are major risks that investors who consider taking a position in the digital asset trading platform should account for. What would get me to change my mind about Bullish is if the enterprise were to see slowing growth in the tokenized real-world asset market or if the platform were to see growing competition in the market with respect to trading fees.
Final Thoughts Asset tokenization is happening at scale, and with more assets moving on-chain, Bullish faces a strong, long-term revenue growth catalyst in a fast-growing market. Tokenization of real-world assets is, in my opinion, the next major growth frontier in the cryptocurrency market and could lead to accelerating institutional adoption. While the market initially valued crypto-based transactions, the growth of the tokenization market implies that blockchain’s value is shifting from speculative trading toward the development of a blockchain-based financial infrastructure.
Assets such as treasuries, real estate, private credit, and commodities can be issued, traded, and settled on-chain, with fractional ownership, faster settlement, and broader access to investors. This could create a major growth tailwind for Bullish and help the cryptocurrency platform edge closer to my fair value range.
