LINK News: Chainlink Expands Swift Partnership Into Tokenized Securities

For Swift’s 2026 Business Challenge, Chainlink built a system that automated a cash dividend for tokenized equities across four blockchains, covering everything from the initial corporate-action message to payment and final reconciliation without manual intervention. According to Chainlink’s official announcement, the system uses the Chainlink Runtime Environment, or CRE, while retaining Swift’s existing ISO 20022 messaging standard. The project pushes the partnership further into the infrastructure required to make tokenized stocks behave more like conventional securities rather than simply blockchain representations of shares.
Chainlink Automates the Dividend From Record Date to Payment Corporate actions become more complicated when the same tokenized share exists on several networks. A paying agent needs to determine who owns the stock at the record date, prevent shares moving between chains from being counted twice, calculate each investor’s entitlement and then send the payment to the correct wallet. Chainlink’s system reads ownership positions across each blockchain and combines them into a single canonical record.
Its Automated Compliance Engine can check identity, sanctions, tax and eligibility requirements before payments are calculated. On the payment date, investors can receive distributions in a stablecoin or tokenized deposit on the network where their wallet exists. CCIP can then move the settlement asset onto another blockchain when necessary.
The Same System Could Handle Stock Splits and Redemptions The dividend demonstration is only one use case. Chainlink says the same model could support interest payments, redemptions, rights issues, stock splits and proxy record dates, while settlement could occur through stablecoins, tokenized deposits or CBDCs. That gives the Swift relationship a broader role in institutional tokenization.
Chainlink has already worked on tokenized funds, while earlier Swift experiments used Chainlink infrastructure to connect conventional financial messaging with multiple blockchain networks.
