Andrew Tate just recorded a 1,300% return on this crypto

Controversial social media personality Andrew Tate has recorded a paper profit of more than $7. 2 million on the Hyperliquid (HYPE) token, turning an initial investment of about $550,000 into one of his most successful crypto positions. On-chain data shared by Lookonchain on October 3 shows the influencer accumulated 122,827 HYPE tokens roughly two years ago at an average price of about $4.
48 per token. With HYPE trading near $89, the position has generated an estimated return of 1,317%. The gains came into focus after a wallet linked to Tate transferred 20,950 HYPE tokens worth approximately $1.

62 million, bringing his total unrealized profit to an estimated $7. 24 million. The transfer does not necessarily indicate an immediate sale.
However, moving tokens to a major centralized exchange typically provides access to deeper liquidity and greater flexibility for trading or profit-taking. HYPE is the native token of Hyperliquid, a decentralized perpetual futures exchange built on its own Layer 1 blockchain. Since launching in late 2024, the token has surged from below $5 to around $89, driven by strong platform growth, rising trading activity, and token buybacks.
The rally turned Tate’s roughly $550,000 investment into a multimillion-dollar position. Tate’s crypto ventures The HYPE investment stands in contrast to Tate’s history on leveraged cryptocurrency markets. Previous on-chain analyses showed that wallets linked to Tate suffered significant losses from leveraged trades involving assets such as Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), with multiple liquidations reported over time.
Tate has also been linked to other crypto ventures, most notably the Solana-based Daddy Tate coin (DADDY)meme coin, which he heavily promoted in 2024. The token attracted significant attention during the celebrity meme coin boom, reaching a market capitalization of more than $200 million shortly after launch before later losing most of its value. While those speculative positions generated losses, the long-term HYPE holding delivered substantially stronger results through simple buy-and-hold exposure to Hyperliquid’s growth.
As a result, the token has emerged as one of Tate’s most successful crypto investments. The crypto gains come as Tate and his brother Tristan remain at the center of multiple legal proceedings. The brothers are currently being held in the United States following their July arrest in Miami, while authorities in the United Kingdom are seeking their extradition over allegations including rape, sex trafficking, and assault.
Separately, Romanian prosecutors filed new charges in September related to alleged human trafficking, money laundering, and offenses involving minors. The brothers have denied all allegations across the various jurisdictions. Featured image via Shutterstock
